Mae Thorton was a pint sized athlete at Eastside High School in the late 1970's. She was part of two girls teams, the county and district champ track team and she stood tall in spirit among her fellow basketball players.
Mae's winning smile took her center court everywhere she went, but her final race would end along a footpath in southeast Gainesville.
