7/10/12 Ask-A-Vet: Heat Stroke in Pets
In a new Tuesday segment called "Ask a Vet," the topic was protecting your pets from Heat Stroke or Hyperthermia. Dr. Tecla Myrick of Alachua County Animal Services joined us to share how to keep your pets cool during the summer. Dr. Myrick says it is never ok for you to leave you pet in a car, because it is entirely too hot, and it's unlawful. Some signs of an overheated animal are panting, drooling, vomiting, lethargy, wobbly, fainting and eventually death. If you think that your pet overheating get them out of the environment immediately.
