OCALA, Fla. Ocala Police have arrested three teens after an armed robbery at a Steak ’n Shake restaurant early Wednesday morning.
The teens actions were all caught on the store’s security cameras.
Officers say this all started when they received a call around midnight, saying that two of the teens ages 16 and 17, entered the Steak ‘n Shake on SW College Road with a gun and bandanas on their face.
The duo went behind the counter and demanded money from the manager.
Meghan Shay with the Ocala Police department said, "Initial reports state that there were two young men involved in this armed robbery, and there were two who in fact went in and received cash from the manager at gun point, however we later identified that there was a third young man who was driver of a stolen vehicle, which is the vehicle they used to commit the crime."
Police say as they pulled up to the scene, the manager gave them a description of the car and they were able to track it down, near Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and State Road 200.
During the pursuit, the driver lost control, hit a tree and the car flipped on its hood.
Officers were then able to arrest the teens and found the money and the gun inside the car.
Shay said, "It's unfortunate to see young men of this age carrying out acts like this, spending their time conducting violent crimes. Now their futures are altered forever and we hope they get set on a better path, but this is definitely not what you expect to see from such young men."
The teens have taken to the juvenile detention center, where they face armed robbery charges.
And officers say the car the teens were driving had been reported stolen in Apopka on July 9th.
