Airbnb expands disaster response program to include Greater Gainesville

Airbnb has expanded its disaster response program for Florida. It now included the Greater Gainesville area.

The program allows residents who have been displaced to find temporary housing with local Airbnb hosts who open their homes free of charge.

Currently Gainesville Airbnb hosts are offering free listings for emergency relief workers and Floridians who cannot yet return to their homes due to Hurricane Irma.

In addition to the free listing price, all service fees and state and local taxes are waived.

You can visit http://www.airbnb.com/disaster, to find the listings by clicking "I need a place to stay."

Floridians who are not currently Airbnb users are still able to receive housing through the program, you just have to created an account on the website.
