Armed shoplifter identified and arrested

LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - On Saturday, December 16, 2017 around 8:45 PM, an armed female tried to shoplift from JC Penny's and threatened employees.

An officer responded to the store in the Lake City Mall after Kendrea English was stopped trying to leave the store with merchandise without paying.

Englidh became aggressive when employees stopped her and threw the items on the ground. While trying to leave, English lifted up her shirt and showed what looked like a firearm and said she would shoot. English, a convicted felon, then ran from the store.

A video of the theft was posted to social media. English was later identified and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

She was arrested and booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility with a $55,000 bond.
