Students in Alachua County looked inside the inner workings of national television news today.
C-SPAN stopped by Loften High School in Gainesville this morning to give students a tour of their mobile production bus.
They also spoke to the children about careers in television.
The stop was part of C-SPAN's 14-month "50 Capitals Tour" which visits schools and other public venues around the country, educating visitors about journalism.
"This is the only school in Alachua County they're going to, but they're going around the state of Florida right now to bring the bus and kind of get kids interested in communications and news," said Loften Film Studies Teacher, Rikki Boria.
Students also learned about C-SPAN's "StudentCam" contest, a documentary competition hosted by the news organization that is open to students from 6th to 12th grade.
