Carjacking suspect bites ASO deputy in Archer

ARCHER, Fla. The victim says 30-year-old Samuel Cox approached his car and opened the door. They fought over the control of the door until the victim was able to slam the driver's door on Cox's hand.

A witness pointed to where they last saw cox and K9 deputies located him.

He fought ASO deputies but the K9 bit cox. During the struggle to place Cox under arrest, Cox bit a deputy.

A 6-foot rattlesnake was there trying to strike the K9 but missed.

“Everyone was treated following that incident. We did have three deputies that were exposed to various forms of bloodborne pathogens but we are happy to say that all of our employees are okay and Mr. Cox is currently taken care of and is currently in the Alachua County jail," ASO Public Information Officer Brett Rhodenizer said.

Cox is charged with 2 counts of battery on an officer, 1 charge of carjacking, 1 count of resisting with violence, 1 count of striking a SAR Animal and 1 charge of possession of less than 20 grams of Marijuana.
