Gainesville man drives car into Lowe's

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) Gainesville police report a man is receiving treatment after he drove into the Lowe's in Butler North and began threatening people.

The man was accused of driving his car into the lumber delivery area of the store around 8 am on Thursday.

According to GPS, he then used the store's power saws to cut wooden planks that were set out for sale.

According to police, the man resisted officers' attempts to subdue him. Police later arrested him and he was taken to UF Health Shands under the Baker Act for psychiatric treatment. His identity is being kept private because of HYPPA laws.
