GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) The Gainesville community came together at Depot Park today to talk about the city's future and collect food for a local food bank.
Gainesville's 2nd Annual Longest Table took place this afternoon, giving guests the chance to enjoy a multi-course meal and to have a conversation about the future of the city.
The event was free to attend but guests were encouraged to bring at least one item to donate to the Bread of the Mighty Food Bank.
Mayor Lauren Poe hopes people took the opportunity to talk about how the city can grow and improve.
Around 240 people attended Longest Table this year and raised over 400 pounds of food.
