UPDATED: Hurricane shelters for rising flood waters in NCFL

Alachua County is extending and expanding the mandatory evacuation for those in the flood plain adjacent to the Santa Fe River. We are expanding the area to include a mandatory evacuation for properties adjacent to creeks, rivers, and streams north of N.W. 441. Impacted communities include High Springs, the City of Alachua, and the Town of Lacrosse.

There is one shelter in Alachua County available to evacuees now:
