Gainesville Police say they have a man behind bars for threatening a group of teenage basketball players with a gun.
The violent encounter has residents concerned.
GPD officers responded to reports of a gun being fired on NE 57th Boulevard yesterday afternoon.
Police say 28-year-old Eric Springborn accused some neighborhood teens of damaging his car.
Springborn drove to the basketball court where the teens were playing.
Police say he got out of his SUV with a gun and said he would take care of them if they messed with his car again.
Springborn is accused of firing one round into the ground and then driving away.
"It's very scary for us parents to try to get our kids to come outside, to watch for cars, and now we have to, like i said, watch for guns," said one witness.
Springborn is in the Alachua County Jail on a $24,000 bond.
