Police arrest UF student for alleged sexual battery

Gainesville Police arrested a University of Florida student on Tuesday for sexual battery against a 17-year-old girl.

According to police, 21-year-old Christopher Podlin met the girl through Instagram and invited her to a fraternity function.

Police say on Dec. 3rd, 2016, the pair met up to study where he tried to kiss her and sit close to her, which made her feel uncomfortable.

The report then states they later met up at Boca Fiesta on December 7th, where the teen became intoxicated. After that, police say Podlin took her back to the fraternity house, gave her a change of clothes and tried to sexually assault her while she was changing.

Police say the teen then started yelling at Podlin and got a ride back to her home. Police arrested Podlin at his home and faces a charge of sexual battery.
