Proposal has been made to allow students free tuition to state colleges

Congressman Shervin Jones has filed a bill earlier this week that will allow students to receive free tuition to state colleges.

If the proposal is passed, students would receive 100 percent paid tuition at state colleges for students whose household income are 125 thousand dollars or less.

Following graduation students would be required to work in state for an unspecified period of time.

The legislature will begin considering the proposal when the next session begins in January.
