ALACHUA, Fla. (WCJB)- Medosome Biotec is a local start up based out of the Sid Martin Institute in Alachua. The company focuses on providing a better quality of life for children in third world countries who struggle with deadly illnesses.

That's why the company created Nuteric, a University of Florida patented technology taken orally to target calcium receptors in the intestines. The dietary supplement improved gut health in people with diarrheal diseases.
They are partnering with the Haiti Ministry of Health. Clinical trials will begin in Haiti over the next few weeks. The company's long term goal is for Nuteric to receive approval as a medical drug in powder form.
