Two NCFL businesses busted for alleged illegal gambling

Two local businesses in Trenton, have been busted for alleged illegal gambling.

On Wednesday afternoon, Gilchrist County Sheriff's Deputies served search warrants to two different internet cafes named "Fish Tales Sweepstakes" and "American Eagle" after a year's worth of complaints.

The Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office and Trenton Police Department conducted a two month investigation into possible illegal gambling. Other complaints about the locations range from drug use, illegal gambling, and armed robberies.

In December of 2017, an armed robber stole $5,000 from one of the cafes, which prompted the investigation.

Deputies detained two workers and nine customers. They also arrested two people for narcotic violations. Officials say they will have to keep some people detained until they can determine who is involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
