Two NCFL businesses help contribute to public education

The Florida Commissioner of Education honored nearly 50 businesses Wednesday with the Commissioner's Business Award for their contributions to public education.

Two businesses in North Central Florida were recognized. The Anderson Columbia Company in Dixie County has provided jobs and scholarships to seniors graduating from Dixie County High School. They also donated land for the new Old Town Elementary School.

And in Suwannee County, Pilgrim's co-sponsored the Early Learning Matters program that helps young children with literacy.
