GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) Meet Gainesville's very own Dr. McDreamy… Dr. David Hall.
Hall is a 5th year surgical resident at the University of Florida College of Medicine and a medical communications fellow for the 14th season of "Grey's Anatomy."
"One of the program coordinators here reached out to me and said she got an email from Grey's looking for surgery residents that have the time to come out there for 3-6 months. Since I'm on my research time, she thought I would be the perfect fit,” said Dr. David Hall, 5th year surgical resident.
Hall says before joining the "Grey's Anatomy" writing team he'd actually never seen the show before.
'When I interviewed with them they asked me, 'If you've never seen the show why are you applying?', and I said what interests me is using this as a way to teach the audience about medicine and make sure the show gets it right,” said Dr. Hall.
For this 14th season of “Grey's Anatomy" there's 24 episodes. Dr. Hall helped write 10 of them.
"With a staff of 10 writers they have one of the largest writing staffs in the country, and in that room of 10 writers there are 3 medical consultants that sit there with the writers when they are outlining episodes to say… 'Oh, you can't so that or you can do that but we should just it this way',” said Dr. Hall.
"What's kind of funny is all the people that have been medical consultants on this show… they kind of sneak them in there… and they wanted to put me in a scene that I helped develop,” said Dr. Hall.
Dr. Hall says all of the cast members were really nice and he would love to work with them again in the future.
As far as season 14 spoilers….
"I can't tell you too much, but there's going to be a lot of surprises. I think the fans are going to be very happy with a couple things, and then not so happy with a couple things but there are surprises coming this season,” said Dr. Hall.
Make sure to grab "your person" for episode 3 of the 14th season airing tonight at 8 p.m. right here on TV20.
