OCALA, Fla. (WCJB)- A woman passed away from a gunshot injury early Wednesday morning in southeast Ocala.

Ocala Police say 30-year old Williams Lewis was banging on the door of 807 SE 33rd Avenue in the middle of the night. Both the homeowner and 31-year old Autumn Feehley were inside the home at the time.

Police say the homeowner and Lewis had a history with each other and the homeowner feared for his family. The homeowner grabbed his gun and opened the door telling Lewis to leave. The two got into a confrontation and Lewis tried to grab the gun. That's when the gun went off. Feehley, who was standing close by, was struck by the bullet.

Neighbors called police after hearing the gun shot. When police arrived at the scene, both men were on the property and Feehley was on the ground and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Feehley and the homeowner have children with each other, but the children were not home when this occurred.

William Lewis was taken to the Marion County Jail and charged with manslaughter for unintentionally killing Feehley.
