For decades, it has been a folk remedy in Southeast Asia for people fighting cancer. But there is new scientific evidence that the papaya fruit actually has properties that kills cancer cells and boosts the body's immune system. Much of that research is taking place right here in North Central Florida. In the Medical Spotlight, Dr. Nam Dang of the University of Florida and Shands explains to TV 20's David Snyder how a tea made from the leaves of the papaya may have the potential to put a stop to cancer.
