National Honor Choir Student
He has the voice of an angel. Fifth grader Thomas Beardsley was discovered only a year ago by his music teacher Cynthia Tickel at Westside Elementary in Lake City. She entered Thomas into the 2013 Oake National Conference-- made up of four national choirs lead by renowned conductors. He did get picked for one of the choirs. Thomas and his teacher are thrilled about the opportunity.
{Cynthia Tickel, Music Teacher} "We submitted it, just thinking if he gets in, great. If he doesn't, it's fine. And then all of sudden, we got the email saying that he had gotten in, and we're just so excited."
{Thomas Beardsley, Fifth Grader} "I'm looking forward to singing with students who can really, really sing and that would be really nice."
The event takes place next month in Connecticut and Thomas is asking the community to help him get there. If you'd like to donate, visit Sing2me.blog.com
