MIAMI (AP) - The National Weather Service says Tropical Storm Debby produced 10 tornadoes over the southern tip of Florida while drenching the northern part of the state.

Debby dropped more than a foot of rain last week over parts of north Florida. Some parts of the Florida Panhandle reported getting up to 2 feet of rain.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, Debby also spawned 10 tornadoes over southern Florida.

Two tornadoes were confirmed June 23 in Collier County.

On June 24, eight tornadoes were reported in a four-hour period in Glades, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Collier counties. The weather service says that ties a record for the most tornadoes reported in one day over southern Florida. The record was set in 1964 when Hurricane Isbell spawned eight tornadoes.
