UF Beefs up Security Football Gameday Weekend
Published October 22nd, 2012
GAINESVILLE- Gators and Gator bait require extensive security at the request of the University Athletic Association.
During UF’s matchup against LSU last weekend, the University Police Department had 100 staff members working security detail for a total of 798 hours.
UFPD's Lt. William Gainey says, “We want people to feel secure we want people to be safe and certainly we don’t feel like there’s any stone left unturned when it comes to gameday security.”
At the end of the day UPD charged 37-hundred dollars for their services.
That number may seem large but it pales to the 122- thousand dollars that they paid for in security between the GPD, UPD, and ASO.
