Local Statehouse Representative Unveils New District Office
OCALA--One of North Central Florida's new representatives at the statehouse unveiled his new district office.
Marion County and Ocala City officials attended the ribbon cutting ceremony of Charlie Stone's office at the College of Central Florida on Thursday.
Stone says one reason he picked this location was because he will be able to work with students and give some of them a chance to intern there.
With the legislative session opening next Tuesday, Stone will consider Governor Rick Scott's proposal for a teacher pay raise.
While they are both republicans, Stone doesn't fully agree with it.
"I think it should be based on a merit system not straight across the board. There are some individuals out there who deserve way more than 2500 and then there's those who don't deserve near that amount."- (Charlie Stone, District 22 Florida Representative)
Stone says he's already introduced two bills; one of them is an investment tax credit for indoor agriculture.
