Jury Selection Continues In John Couey Case
Published February 13th, 2007
Many said they had heard about the 2005 slaying of Jessica Lunsford in Citrus County. Others had family or work conflicts. So far only 14 jurors have made it past this initial qualifying phase. More will be questioned throughout the day. A jury of 12 people plus six alternates is being sought to hear the case against John Couey. Â
The case was moved from Citrus County to Miami because of heavy local media coverage.Â
Television cameras in the courtroom show Couey working on a coloring book at the defense table with colored pencils. The page he was working on much of the morning depicted dinosaurs.
