Authorities have identified the body of a woman found in Southeast Gainesville Saturday night.

Gainesville Police say 37-year-old Shelly Hall Gatlin of Gainesville was discovered about a hundred yards south of the Gainesville-Hawthorne state trail... near southeast fourth street.

Police think her body was in the woods for less than 48 hours.

The investigation is ongoing but police say it could be murder.
