New Name for Diamond Sports Park
Published March 5th, 2007
It looks like the Diamond Sports Park will be getting a new name soon.
Tuesday the Alachua County School Board plans to vote on the change.
The Citizens Advisory Council for the park has recommended changing the park's name to "The North Central Florida Sportsplex."
One of the reasons for the name change is so people can recognize the park is under new ownership.
Late last year, the board paid $2.5 million to own the park.
