Gainesville Power Outage Update
Published April 26th, 2007
Thousands of residents were stuck in the dark for a little while this evening. Their power went out.
A Gainesville Regional Utilities spokesman said more than nine-thousand people were affected.
Residents and business owners from Southwest Archer Road to North Main Street flooded GRU with power outage reports.
Officials believe the problem started at the Kelly Substation. Eight circuits total were affected. GRU said the areas that were affected should have regained power. If people are still experiencing a power outage, they are asked to call system control at (352) 334-2871.
