A Newberry couple were killed Monday when their motorcycle collided with a pickup truck. Troopers say the crash happened in the afternoon.

Bobby Ray Wilkerson and his wife Jamie Gail Wilkerson both died from fatal head injuries. They were on County Road 234 when they were hit by a pickup truck turning left onto 234. They were both pronounced dead on the scene.

It is accidents like these that have Florida Highway Patrol troopers asking everyone to stay safe this holiday.

"Please drive for the next driver," said Nicholas Causey of FHP. "Don't just drive for yourself."

Another crash in this area left one person in Columbia County critically injured Monday.

Troopers urge everyone to be particularly careful while travelling home this holiday.
