Smoke In Marion County

Smoke In Marion County

Published May 8th, 2007

On Monday the streets of Ocala resembled the smog filled streets of Las Angeles. There are currently two relatively small fires burning in Marion County and several other larger fires in Alachua, Bradford, Lake, and Volusia that are filling the air and our lungs with smoke.

Marion County Fire Rescue Chief Bart Walker says, "Especially if you do have some sort of underlying respiratory condition, stay indoors, keep your windows closed, and use your air condition if you have to go anywhere."
