Young Marines of Gainesville
Published May 27th, 2007
It's their way of honoring those that served before them. The Young Marines of Gainesville did something special to kick off the Memorial Day weekend. They're placing flags on the graves of veterans. The Young Marines program is supported by the Marine Core. Their main focus is to dissuade youth from getting involved with drugs. But this holiday weekend, they're focusing on something else.
"Memorial Day I think is remembering the veterans and who they served for and why they served," says Young Marine Brian Goff.
On Memorial Day, the Young Marines will take part in a flag presentation at the Veterans Association Hospital. Thalia Hayden, WCJB TV20 News.
