Silver Springs Man netted in internet sex sting
Published June 6th, 2007
A Silver Springs man is behind bars, accused of committing a crime without ever leaving home.
21-year old Brandon Scott Bellar of Silver Springs faces multiple charges of sexually soliciting a minor over the internet and transmitting sexually explicit images. Investigators say it all happened in an internet chat room.
Bellar's mother doesn't believe the allegations. But neighbors say these types of crimes are common in their area.
Karen Brown says, "We have a lot of pedophiles that run  through the forest, you know, and live out here."
If convicted of the charges, Bellar could face up to 20 years in prison.
