Summertime Rise in Crime
   School's out for summer, and for many teens that means freedom and fun. But police say it's cause for concern, and can lead to trouble around town. Once summer hits, police say there's a rise in crime. They're going to greater lengths this year to keep you and your family safe.Â
    The expression "idle time is the devils playground" pretty much explains the situation cops are facing right now. Police say there's a direct link between teen boys and summer burglaries. Police hope having more officers on the streets now that school is out, will reduce the number of break-ins. They'll be driving around and watching for teenagers hanging out downtown.
    "There are some young people that school keeps them out of trouble. Well, they're not in school anymore ... thus the trouble starts," says Lt. Keith Kameg of the Gainesville Police Department. The city of Ocala has a midnight curfew for teens, while Gainesville has none.
    Tonight at eleven we'll take a look at *why* local teens may be getting into trouble... we'll hear from some self proclaimed teen-trouble makers who say they've straightened out..
