Water Worries
Residents in the Arredondo Farms neighborhood say Aqua Utilities Florida is charging customers outrageous prices for water, and they can't afford it.
Aqua Utilities is so big and many customers are asking why their prices are so high.
But a spokesperson for the utility says the company needs to recover it's initial investment.
"It's because of the $600,000 we have invested to upgrade the water treatment facility and the sewer facilities there," says Terry Maenza, Spokesperson for Aqua Utilities.
Aqua Utilities isn't done trying to raise rates. Company officials have already increased the service fee by 28%, and if approved by the State Public Service Commission, Arredondo customers will eventually see a total of 63% increase.
