Bank Robbers on the Run
Alachua County Sheriff's Deputies closely examined surveillance pictures and 9-1-1 calls and they now have their suspects in Friday's bank robbery in Newberry.
WCJB has those exclusive calls. Deputies believe the following transcript from one of them is a hoax.
The caller said, "There's a black guy in the parking lot that just shot 3 people. I don't know if they're dead or if they're just laying there bleeding."
Sheriff's deputies say that was 39-year old William Lee Sparks making the fake call.
It distracted them enough to show up too late to a nearby bank robbery at Ameris Bank.
They believe 26- year old Spencer Brent Norton is the robber.
They think the two men were working together.
They're asking the public to call the Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers if you have information on where these men are.
