Girl Calls Sex Hotline, Expects Sexual Assault Counseling
Published July 24th, 2007
An eight year old Lake City girl upset about inappropriate behavior got a dirty sex hotline when she tried to call the North Central Florida Sexual Assault Center.
The incorrect phone number was listed both in the phone book and on the Attorney General of Florida's website.
"I convinced my daughter this phone call was going to help her," said the girl's mother Karen Carter. "But it made things immensely worse."
WCJB contacted Attorney General of Florida Bill McCollum and the number has been taken off his website.
"Again our sincerest apologies to the family that was affected," said Attorney General spokesperson Sandi Copes.
