'Legislative Home Day'
Published August 16th, 2007
Today was the second annual 'Legislative Home Day'. City, county and state officials came together to learn about the latest fire equipment. And with fire rescue on the cutting room floor of this year's proposed budget...
Congressman Cliff Stearns stressed the importance of continued financial support. The event was held at Florida State Fire College - the only training ground in the state..
"A lot of firefighters come to train here, on all kinds of aspects of firefighting. As you saw from the demonstration, burning buildings and such."
The fire chief says the main message he's hoping legislature takes home, is to continue supporting the federal grant programs.
