Mad Or Bad Max?
Published August 23rd, 2007
Vernon Maxwell played in the NBA for 13 years, but despite making millions, he rarely paid child support for his son Dominique. Dominique is now 19 years old, and says Vernon owes him more than $340,000 in back child support. Vernon violated his probation by not paying and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He turned himself in on Sunday.
"Was it worth it? Was it worth all the nights in jail, was it worth all the fighting, is it worth all the TV20s, the ABC 20/20s, is is worth it?" said Dominique.
Working with the NBA's pension office, Dominique's mother is making sure her son receives his child support money from Vernon's retirement pension which starts in 2010.Â
