He spoke about his days as an astronaut and addressed questions students had on some hot button issues like gay marriage, abortion, the war in Iraq, and others.

Senator Nelson says education is the key to Americas continued success and he says it starts in school.

"Have a great educational base with emphasis on math and science and tech then we are still going to lead the global market place," says Senator Bill Nelson.

Gilchrist County school leaders say it was a great opportunity not only for students but for the community as well.
