Who's Teaching Your Kids
The site, myfloridateacher.com was launched on Monday but educators say there are flaws in the site. The site posted by the Department of Education names 4 people in Alachua County even if a person has been cleared of the charges. And while the state feels it can call a charge a breach in the code of ethics, they aren't pardoning innocent teachers.
"You want to be sure that the information is useful to parents that it's clear to parents and that they have the whole story.," said Sandy Hollinger, Assistant Superintendent for Alachua County Public Schools.
It's important to note that none of the teachers in Alachua County named on the site have had their teaching certificates revoked, which the school board says would be the typical action taken if someone is found guilty.
