Levy County Shooting
By Gavin Johnson, WCJB TV20 News
Tonight deputies in Levy County are investigating a double homicide. Levy County investigators say 28-year old Hugo Devalle and his cousin 34-year old Elfego Cano were returning home when someone in a truck was waiting for them at Mcdougal Mobile Home Park in Fanning Springs.
It's the just the second and third murders this year in Levy County but the case could be the hardest to solve.
Deputies say the two men were coming home to the Mcdougal Mobile Home Park last night when someone in a silver toyota extended cab pickup truck ambushed them. Investigators say gunshots flew at Devalle and Cano while they were inside the car. Deputies say the victims tried to drive away, but only travelled about fifty feet, crashing through these fences and a tree before their car caught on fire.
Deputies say right after the shooting the toyota truck was seen leaving the mobile home park at a high speed. Again they say it's a silver toyota truck extended cab.
