Shooting Outside Oaks Mall
Published December 6th, 2007
One day after a gunman opened fire at a crowded shopping mall in Nebraska, there's a shooting at a mall, right here in north central Florida.
Gainesville police tell WCJB that there was a shooting at the oaks mall on Newberry road in Gainesville.
The shooting happened outside of the mall, near the Don Pablo restaurant, a little after four thirty.
Police say preliminary reports are that three men were involved... One man tried to start a fight.. That's when he was shot by another man... And the brother of the shooting victim pulled out a knife but nothing further happened.
We do not know how many shots were fired.
We also do not know the status of the shooting victim...
The mall is not shut down right now.
