Students from Santa Fe High School Show Their Best Hogs and Heifers
Published April 1st, 2008
The students are a part of the Academy of Agricultural Science and their best-in-show are a part of the science program at Santa Fe High School but they're also good enough to sell.
And these future farmers of America are doing more than getting their hands dirty.
11th grader, Bailey Ann Burns, "FFA you think farmers but it's more leadership hand in hand with farming."
More than 90% of the students in FFA will actually forego being farmers, many want to be lawyers and doctors.
The Alachua County Youth Fair and Livestock Show has been around since 1956 and some students say they put their earnings from sales in their college funds.
