From Amber Alert Victim to Murder Suspect
Published May 6th, 2008
Morgan Leppert was considered a 15 year old child just days ago, as a National Amber Alert was issued for her. She may have to grow up quickly if the State Attorney's office decides to try her as an adult for 1st Degree Murder. New details are emerging about the killing of James Stewart of Melrose. Investigators believe Leppert and her friend Toby Lowry hid out behind the home of 66 year old Stewart before killing him on April 25th. A warrant for 1st Degree Murder has been issued for both Lowry and Leppert and they may be charged when they arrive this week in Florida.
