New Gainesville City Commissioners

Lauren Poe and Thomas Hawkins are two democratic candidates with similar goals. Two main issues they share are the Cabot- Koppers Superfund clean-up and consolidating with Alachua County. Lauren Poe replaces Ed Braddy in the district two seat. The youngest commissioner this term...Thomas Hawkins, replaces Rick Bryant in the second at large seat. Poe and Gawkins will be sworn in Thursday at noon. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony at the Thelma Boltin Center on Northeast Second Avenue.
