Free Concerts Downtown

The month of June is National Black Music Month. Gainesville is honoring that with it's free friday concert series all month long with four weeks of black music.
"It's pretty much influences every kind of music you can imagine," says Gainesville Plaza Events Coordinator David Ballard. "Rock and roll, blues, jazz, it's endemic of our culture and it's pretty great music to come out and listen to."
Here's the full slate of artists:
June 6 - De Lions of Jah (Reggae)
June 13 - Collective Format (Neo-Soul/Nu-Jazz)
Omi Ajamu (Jazz/African Dance/Drums)
June 20 - LA Sunshine Band (R&B/Funk/Blues)
Courtney Scott (Hip Hop/Blues/Roots)
June 27 - Sam Rivers Quartet (Jazz/Legendary 84 year old multi-instrumentalist)
