Watermelon Festival

The second annual melon festival starts on Saturday. Vendors will be selling melons. The event also features lots of fun and games, including a watermelon rolling and seed spitting contests.
"We have age groups, so you have the 12 and under, get to compete against the kids, and the older folks competing with the adults," said Sharon Yeago, Farmers Market Manager. "And we have prizes for everybody. We'll have t-shirts, and we'll have plants, vegetables, and that kind of stuff."
The melon festival starts at 11a.m. and runs until 3p.m. The melon rolling contest will take place at noon, and the seed spitting contest starts at 2p.m.
The Farmers Market is located off Main Street near City Hall.
