Gas Prices Gone Wild
Published September 12th, 2008
Drivers swarmed gas stations across North Central Florida Thursday, as they tried to beat rumors of a gas shortage or an increase in prices.
But, come Friday, gas stations averaged a penny increase across the board, according to AAA. Jim Smith, of Florida's Petroleum Marketers Association, said drivers could continue their usual gas-buying patterns. "There's no need to panic. We've got plenty of product," he said.
Still, some Gainesville stations saw a near-20-cent increase.
