Local School Gets an Outdoor Classroom
Published September 27th, 2008
The Glen Springs Elementary PTA came together today along with their children to build an outdoor classroom. The project is funded by a grant from Lowes Toolbox for Education, and the school is hoping the outdoor classroom will inspire the children and make it easier to learn compared to the windowless rooms they now have. The classroom consists of concrete picnic tables in a semi-circle and a stone platform in the middle, for the teacher. The volunteers also planted native plants and placed landscaping boulders around the stage. The classroom is set to open in Mid-November.
