They say they're just out here educating voters.
"We're just out here trying to help people with sample ballots, discussing, debating amendments on here," Rentz Galloway says.
But opposers say they're intimidating the voters.
"It you're forcing a certain ballot on other people and they really didn't want to vote that way, once again we're talking voter intimidation," Gayle Cannon says.
This group of people is standing near the Columbia County Supervisor of Elections Office, handing out sample ballots as people are walking in to vote.
But here's the controversy: The ballots have already filled out by this group... and the Supervisor of Elections says she's gotten hundreds of complaint calls.
"Seventy-five percent or more of my time has been answering questions about the people across the street being here and why they're able to give out these sample ballots," Liz Horne, Supervisor of Elections says.
Horne says this group isn't doing anything wrong.
Technically, as long as they're standing 100 feet from the building, they can campaign however they want.
Even though the group is giving out these ballots at least hundred feet from the building, some people say it's what's on the ballots that's causing controversy. It's a largely democratic ticket, and it even has certain amendments selected on the back.
Galloway says he and his group are just informing people and can't persuade voters to sway one way or the other. And some people being approached with these ballots agree.
"It's always interesting to see what other people think, but I'm a person of my own mind and can make my own decisions," Mattie Jones says, resident, says.
Most of the people we spoke with said they already had their minds made up before coming to vote.
But said they aren't surprised by these last-ditch efforts to elect certain candidates and pass certain amendments.
We contacted the supervisor of elections offices in all of the counties in our viewing area ... but Columbia County was the only one reporting this sample ballot issue.
