One Stop Location
Published October 15th, 2008
The City of Gainesville met once again with the County Commissioners proposing alternative sites for a possible homeless shelter.
The One Stop Homeless Center is supposed to offer services such as hot meals, medical needs and counseling.
The county rejected the proposal four to one, for the sites which were in unincorporated parts of the county. The Commissioners say there should be alternative sites considered.
rather them taking a site because they've narrowed it down and done it several times, they would continue to work until they have the best site they could possibly identify to make work to serve the people who need the service.
The city plans to bring up more alternative sites at the next commissioners meeting
